This past week my husband brought home a bucket of dates that his friend at work had brought him. They looked just like normal dates, but when I tasted them wow, it was the best date ever. I was excited to share them with you all and took a picture and when I asked my husband what type they were he told me that his friends family has them on their private farm and the palm tree is actually not even from the Middle East so these are not any date that one would typically find. They just call these Salam dates after their last name.
I really wish I had more information to share with you all because everyone should try these dates at least once in their life. They have that amazing soft and sweet center like sukary dates, but the outside is not sticky. Some have pits and a lot do not. These are the perfect dates to use for baking or cooking, but I do not want to use them up so we plan to just eat them as is.
