Okay, you all I promise this is the last hot drink, I will post about for awhile. Lately I have just been experimenting a lot and if I love it of course I have to share with you. During the school year I always wake up early (before 6am) and after everyone is gone, I usually enjoy a cup of tea while I browse Pinterest before going back to sleep for a bit.
So you already know around this time of year bloggers go crazy posting about pumpkin this and that. Truthfully, I am sick of it and I think the pumpkin trend has been played out even if I do love Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Speaking of PSL the Starbucks here will be carrying them this month and I had a gigantic one last night. This drink inspired this recipe actually. I thought if it tastes so good with coffee, then why not tea?
FALL SPICE COFFEE SYRUP:
1-1/2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground clove
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1. In a saucepan on high heat add sugar and water. Bring to a full boil stirring and add cinnamon, clove and ginger. Reduce heat to low stirring every once in awhile and allow to simmer for 15 minutes.
2. Carefully strain syrup into a jar to remove large spice pieces, cool then add lid and place in the refrigerator.
Yields: 2 cups
FALL SPICE TEA LATTE:
2 teaspoons black tea
1-1/2 cups boiling water
Fall spice Sugar syrup (per tastes)
1/2 cup warm milk
Fresh ginger, grated on top
1. In a large mug, add boiling water and tea, then allow to steep for 5 minutes. Divide tea into two teacups then add sugar syrup to taste, mix. With a hand held milk frother froth the milk. Divide into both cups.
Yields: 2 servings
This looks great! I can’t wait to make it
