Eid Mubarak friends! Can you even believe that Ramadan is already over? Time goes by so fast that I cannot seem to keep up. Tonight for our last iftar I made Moroccan Harira and it was delicious. I just got finished cleaning the house up and I went ahead and set the table up for our Eid breakfast and added a little Eid sign that Talal made as well as our fanoos and magic lamp. We’re planning on having pancakes, shakshouka, beef bacon and fruit salad. I also just made a pitcher of Saudi Champagne and we will also have Saudi Qahwa.
We always get take out from a local Yemeni place for our Eid dinner and then my husband drops Talal off at the mall so we can buy our gift gifts ourselves which we love. I was too impatient and already have them my gifts. I bought my husband a few new shirts and Talal two toys with some candy. The next day of Eid we always go out to eat and the take Talal to play the evening away. Last year we got to spend the holiday in Dubai and I am already missing that, but I think regardless of where you’re at you can make Eid special in some way.
I sincerely hope that Allah accepts all of your fasting and prayers from the month of Ramadan. Eid Mubarak once again. If you want to read a bit more about the Eid traditions in Saudi read this on my personal blog.
