Weight loss and healthy eating are two major topics all over the world these days. It’s understandable as it’s nearly impossible to lose weight without consuming a healthier diet.
On top of weight loss, a healthy diet is the first step toward eliminating countless ailments.

People who suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, acid reflux and many other illnesses are most commonly instructed to change their diet in order to jump start their recovery.
It isn’t the easiest thing to do these days though. Food production varies from country to country, but in most larger, developed countries, the lines between what is fresh and what is processed can be a bit more blurred.
The debate rages on over how we should maintain the laws on what food manufacturers should be required to print on their packages.
In the meantime, we can use some simple guidelines to help us choose the cleanest, freshest foods to eat.

Prepare More Meals At HomE
Going out to eat at a restaurant is a treat that everybody should enjoy from time to time.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who eat every one of their lunches and sometimes even their dinners out at restaurants. Whether it’s a quick trip through the drive through or a sit down meal at a nice establishment, the amount of calories from fats and sugars is always going to be higher than a home prepared meal.

Even restaurants that claim they are a healthier option can’t compete with a self made meal.
Look For Whole Grains

There is a lot of talk in regards to healthy eating that say that carbohydrates are bad. This isn’t necessarily true.
Empty carbs from white bread and sugary cereals generally contain more chemicals and are more processed but don’t have any nutritional value.
Eat Lean Meats
If you have kids, then you know how much they love chicken nuggets. Chicken being a lean protein that is generally thought of as a healthy meat option could mislead people into thinking they are feeding their kids something healthy.
The truth is that most chicken nuggets are made from a paste of leftover meats that is bleached and washed in a bath of peroxide. This is also true for many processed pre-sliced lunchmeats.

Eat A Rainbow Of Colors
Fresh fruits and vegetables come in a variety of beautiful colors and making sure you eat a wide array of colors will usually mean you will get a wide array of vitamins.
These vitamins help maintain healthy heart functions, vision, immune system and respiratory health.
Delicious smoothies are the best way to consume your fresh fruits, and vegetables. Anyone can do those great drinks at home with just a good blender like Ninja (Read more Ninja blender comparison chart).
