5 Tips To Eat Clean + Healthy Foods Everyday

Weight loss and healthy eating are two major topics all over the world these days. It’s understandable as it’s nearly impossible to lose weight without consuming a healthier diet.

On top of weight loss, a healthy diet is the first step toward eliminating countless ailments.

People who suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, acid reflux and many other illnesses are most commonly instructed to change their diet in order to jump start their recovery.

It isn’t the easiest thing to do these days though. Food production varies from country to country, but in most larger, developed countries, the lines between what is fresh and what is processed can be a bit more blurred.

The debate rages on over how we should maintain the laws on what food manufacturers should be required to print on their packages.

In the meantime, we can use some simple guidelines to help us choose the cleanest, freshest foods to eat.

  • Always Read The Label
  • Prepare More Meals At HomE
  • Look For Whole Grains
  • Eat Lean Meats
  • Eat A Rainbow Of Colors

Always Read The Label

always read labels
  • The first thing anyone should do if they are looking to maintain a healthier diet is to read the label on everything they buy.
  • Try to choose products that contain a shorter list of ingredients.
  • If the label has a laundry list of ingredients that are impossible to pronounce, it’s pretty safe to say that the contents are going to be highly processed.
  • Stick to items with a small list of real ingredients.

Prepare More Meals At HomE

Going out to eat at a restaurant is a treat that everybody should enjoy from time to time.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who eat every one of their lunches and sometimes even their dinners out at restaurants. Whether it’s a quick trip through the drive through or a sit down meal at a nice establishment, the amount of calories from fats and sugars is always going to be higher than a home prepared meal.

Even restaurants that claim they are a healthier option can’t compete with a self made meal.

  • Pack a lunch to take to work.
  • Using best foodsaver vacuum sealers will make it easy to store, preserve and prepare your meals..
  • Pre-prepare parts of dinner so it is easier to make after work. You’ll feel the difference in your body and in your pocket book.

Look For Whole Grains

There is a lot of talk in regards to healthy eating that say that carbohydrates are bad. This isn’t necessarily true.

Empty carbs from white bread and sugary cereals generally contain more chemicals and are more processed but don’t have any nutritional value.

  • When shopping for bread, cereal and pasta, look for products that are made with whole grains.
  • Balanced diets with whole grain carbohydrates help reduce heart disease and can help prevent the risk of stroke.

Eat Lean Meats

If you have kids, then you know how much they love chicken nuggets. Chicken being a lean protein that is generally thought of as a healthy meat option could mislead people into thinking they are feeding their kids something healthy.

The truth is that most chicken nuggets are made from a paste of leftover meats that is bleached and washed in a bath of peroxide. This is also true for many processed pre-sliced lunchmeats.

  • Instead of the premade meat options, get freshly sliced meats from the deli or use larger real chunks of meat in your sandwich.
  • You can easily make your own chicken nuggets at home with real, fresh chicken breast.
  • Try to incorporate more fish in your diet. Catfish, tilapia and salmon are great lean meats that are high in valuable Omega-3 fatty acids and are easy to prepare at home. Using a fillet knife will save you a lot of time and get great fishes.
  • Omega-3s contribute to decreased risk of stroke and heart disease and increased brain function.

Eat A Rainbow Of Colors

Fresh fruits and vegetables come in a variety of beautiful colors and making sure you eat a wide array of colors will usually mean you will get a wide array of vitamins.

These vitamins help maintain healthy heart functions, vision, immune system and respiratory health.

Delicious smoothies are the best way to consume your fresh fruits, and vegetables. Anyone can do those great drinks at home with just a good blender like Ninja (Read more Ninja blender comparison chart).

  • Try to learn what local fruits and vegetables are available during each season.
  • Getting fresh, locally grown produce will contain more nutrients than an item that has spent the last week being trucked across the country.
  • Don’t be afraid to start your own garden as well. It’s easy to keep a few commonly used herbs and vegetables around in a small garden to use in your home cooking.

thank you for your food adviser,I have a cup of cooked spinach every day with dinner. It’s something I recently started doing around January of 2015. I’ve noticed a lot of changes in my skin, nails, and hair also. If I’m out of Spinach I eat Broccoli, plain with noting on it.
