Cinnamon Dolce Latte

It finally got cold in Riyadh these last few days and there is nothing I like more than a hot drink in my hand when I am freezing. I have about tired myself out of my other flavors and was looking for a new one on the Starbucks Menu. I always browse through online and then create one myself. I have never tried a Cinnamon Dolce Latte so I thought it was perfect. I do like a bit of cinnamon, but nothing overpowering so if you do add more then I did.

I broke my glass carafe on my espresso maker a few months ago and it was going to cost more to replace then the entire package so I just decided to upgrade to a Delonghi. I have been really happy with it, it makes a great cup of coffee. So I will be getting my espresso and frothed milk this way, but if you do not have one you can get espresso from a moka pot and frothed milk from a hand frother or by shaking it in a jar.

1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 cup water
1 (5-inch) cinnamon stick

1/2 cup espresso
1/4 cup frothed milk
Ground cinnamon, for topping

1. In a saucepan on medium heat, add water, sugar, syrup and cinnamon. Cook until heated through and the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit for 15 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick. Keeps refrigerated in an airtight container.

2. In a mug add syrup to taste, espresso and frothed milk. Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top.

Yields: 1 cup

Coffee and cinnamon are quite a match made in heaven! I love it! I do think about getting a DeLonghi myself since I love a good latte but Starbucks get´s expensive and so I could do it myself. I would love a post about that gem :)

    Happy Monday!

I am not much of a cinnamon person and even I think this is just divine. I will do, I have been meaning to for a few months now.

Love your creativity Noor :). I’ve tried Delnoghi before, but now I’m settled with Nespresso, it is sooo coool and makes the tastiest cup of coffee I’ve ever tasted. Although it requires special pods which costs a fortune but it really taste so much better. I’ll try your version with the cinnamon. Have a greast winter dear :)

That’s so funny as I was just making a cappuccino I was thinking of the Nespresso. It has been THE ONE I wanted for a few years now, but I keep holding back because of the price. The cheapest one here is sr1,000 and I have pretty much every coffee maker ever made, ugh. I have tried it and I love how small it is, the taste and also how simple it is. It actually just got cold here this week, it’s 40F which is freezing fr us especially since last week I had my windows open.
