White Coffee

Ipoh "white" coffee is a popular coffee which originated in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. The coffee beans are roasted with palm-oil margarine, and the resulting coffee is served with condensed milk. The term "white coffee" originates from the literal translation of its Chinese name, which was introduced in the 19th century by Chinese migrants who came to work in the local tin mines. "White" coffee, on the other hand, is produced with only margarine and without any sugar, resulting in a less dark roast.

I have fell in love with the famous Malaysian Ipoh white coffee while I have been on vacation. Nestle sells it in cans at every market and its really good that way but the best I have had so far is at a restaurant named Pappa Rich. Although they have a white coffee house in China town I have yet to go but I do plan on it. I have heard that you can buy some pretty good instant from the market so I plan to bring some home with me but for now I am enjoying it fresh while I can.
