I used to love kitchen gadgets to the point it was just ridiculous, my kitchen was overflowing with junk. I have since tried to purge everything I have and stop wasting money on these things. It seemed no matter what I bought my hands were always my favorite tools with a few essential items. When I thought about the things that I would be lost without my list was very short.
1. Cusinart Smart Stick
Before we moved to Saudi I bought this to bring with me. It was one of the best purchases for my kitchen ever. It was strong and I used it almost daily. It recently broke due to a plug issue and I bought one here, which ended up being a waste of money. It hardly works and I regret not just buying this one again, I plan to.
2. Non-Stick Baking Mats
These things are awesome. I not only use them for baking, but also anytime I work with anything sticky like dough. I end up not having a mess and not having to use too much flour. I just always buy mine off Ebay.
3. Delonghi Espresso Maker
This Espresso maker was a step up from the one I had, but still not very expensive. I have been really happy with it and it makes a great cappuccino. I have wanted a Nepresso since it looks great and making a drink is so simple, but I just cannot justify the cost of the machine and all the pods.
4. Magnetic Utensil Set
I bought this set from Modcloth a few years ago and they have worked out well. They are so simple since everything sticks together and easy to grab when I need one.
5. Electric Kettle
For years I just used a regular old kettle on the stove top and then a few years ago I bought an electric kettle and I have to say that I cannot believe it took me so long. I bought this one on sale at Debenham’s and it has been just the right size for me.
